invite的基本意思是有禮貌地要求某人去某地或做某事,這種要求對被邀請者來說,一般是令其愉快的,至少是不反感的,而且往往是給予猶豫不決的人提供一個機會。引申則可表示以言語挑逗、物質引誘或優(yōu)惠政策等吸引他人到某地或做某事。invite還可表示“導致某事”或“引誘,慫恿”等。
invite有兩層含義:invite sb to加名詞,表示“邀請某人參加某項活動”,to后直接加名詞,不屬于不定式。invite sb to do sth,表示“邀請某人做某事”,to后接不定式。
